Orange Airport could turn international if plans to bring flights from Papua New Guinea and other pacific islands directyl to Orange take off.
The idea comes on the back of the recent visit from Papua New Guinea Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill. Mr. O’Neill visited Orange as a guest of Newcrest Mining to tour Cadia Valley Operations (CVO), but also met with Orange mayor John Davis, Sister Cities chair Cr.Chris Gryllis and enterprise services director Stephen Sykes.
Cr Davis said federal Regional Australia Minister Simon Crean (who also sits on the CLGF Board) was very keen to bring workers from PNG and other island countries directly to the Orange airport via Brisbane or Sydney when they come to Australia for harvest season and other work.
